Been a bit busy this week, apologies for not getting around to writing the week 5 recap until a few hours before week 6 kicks off! Better late than never, I suppose.
Lobos Stay Perfect in Showdown with Jaybirds
New Mexico kept their unbeaten streak alive with a 143–136 win over the Jaybirds. Emeka Egbuka (31.3), Puka Nacua (24.5), and Sam LaPorta (20.2) fueled the offense, while the Birds got strong games from Jameson Williams (26.9) and Amon-Ra St. Brown (18.0) but couldn’t close the gap. The Lobos move to 5–0, the league’s only remaining undefeated team.
Robots Reboot in Big Way vs. Tourists
i2^3∑π put up a monster 151–94 win over the Tourists, with Kyren Williams (31.1), Baker Mayfield (26.7), and Jake Ferguson (23.9) leading the charge. Josh Allen (19.4) did what he could, but Austin’s offense sputtered as the Tourists fell to 2–3.
Tacos Torch Rockport
San Antonio exploded for 150 points in a 150–111 win over the Leatherheads. Jonathan Taylor (31.6), Justin Fields (25.9), and Garrett Wilson (19.1) led the way for the Tacos, who move to 3–2 and right back into the thick of the playoff race.
Troubs Hold Off Muskies for Third Win
Tortilla Flats improved to 3–2 after a 128–122 victory over Michiana. C.J. Stroud (28.8), Jaxon Smith-Njigba (27.2), and Kaimi Fairbairn (18.0) paced the offense. The Muskies got big days from Christian McCaffrey (27.9) and Travis Kelce (19.1) but remain winless at 0–5.
