Week 13, Issue 14, December 5th, 2023

As the final week of the regular season unfolds, the playoff landscape becomes clearer. In New Mexico, the champagne flowed as the Defending Champs secured the West Division title for the second year in a row, with a resounding victory over the San Antonio Tacos. The Lobos posted the highest point total in a single game this season, defeating the Tacos 197-155. With the Jaybirds also securing a close 134-131 win over the i2^3∑π, New Mexico now stands alone atop the West Division as they prepare for their final regular season matchup against the Michiana Muskellunge.
Meanwhile, the Muskellunge faced an unexpected challenge as they dropped a close game to the Rockport Leatherheads. Despite not having much at stake, the Leatherheads rallied with seconds left on the clock and secured a 131-129 victory over Michiana. The East Division remains a tightly contested two-team race for 1st, with the Tacos currently leading despite their loss to New Mexico. Austin is closely trailing, having won convincingly with a score of 143-81 against the Tortilla Flats Troubadours. Michiana follows in 3rd. All three teams have secured playoff positions, with the final rankings yet to be determined.
Looking ahead to the Week 14 matchups, the Robots will travel to San Antonio as the Tacos aim to solidify their Numero Uno position in the division. The Muskellunge will host the Lobos in Michiana, seeking to end the regular season on a high note. The Tourists will face the Leatherheads in Austin, and Rockport will attempt to finish the season strong with another potential upset. Wrapping up Week 14 action, the Troubadours, working on their 5th injured quarterback of the season, will meet the Jaybirds as both teams vie for position in the consolation bracket.

If the playoffs began today, San Antonio would host Michiana, while the Tourists would travel to New Mexico. In the consolation ladder, the Jaybirds would host the i2^3∑π, and Rockport would stage a final South Texas Shootout against the Troubadours. However, the playoff picture remains fluid until the dust settles next Monday night. Strap in, because it’s bound to be a thrilling finish.
Player of the Week honors for Week 13 go to San Antonio Wide Receiver DK Metcalf, who hauled in 6 passes for 134 yards and 3 touchdowns, earning a season-high 37.4 points.

SEEDING TIEBREAKER SEQUENCE
- H2H Record (overall) among the tied teams (Tourists and Tacos split the regular season series 1-1)

- Most points wins. If a tie remains, the process proceeds to IntraDivisional Record.
- IntraDivisional Record (best H2H record within the same division). If a tie remains, the process proceeds to Points Against

* In Fantasy Football you have no control over how many points your opponent scores against you, so Points Against is a proxy for the NFL’s “strength of schedule” tiebreaker. Assuming a comparable schedule, the team with more Points Against played a stronger schedule and thus wins a tie.
